Yuck. By the end, finishing this felt like doing a school assignment. I wanted to get through it, but it was a real slogfest. Disappointing, especially after I got into the Forgotten Garden. All of that lead up to one teeny, tiny scene at the bitter end. Not worth it.

Y'all. Y'ALL. This book is dumb. I couldn't remember all the characters' names, everything was dragged out times one thousand, and I wanted to rip out the last page of the book so future readers could still dream it might end ok. Look, it's established that I like upstairs/downstairs books post-World War I. But seriously, read Brideshead Revisited instead of this.

Son las 4:25 de la mañana y acabo de terminar de leerlo. No podía soltarlo. Es el primer libro que leo de Kate Morton, pero puedo asegurar que no será el último.
