Novella

Love Joanna Wylde. I do feel like Rome’s Chance was missing a lot of the story but it was a novella so I understand. I also wish, though it was meant to be completely stand alone, that we had seen more of the Reapers.

Some books just end before you are ready, all of Joanna's books are like that for me.

Rome's Chance was a fun and quick love story featuring a couple that struggled to find their timing. As a standalone novella it easily showcased the subtle charm of the Reapers MC in order to entice new readers into the series and give longtime readers a taste of the world they've been missing. Even with its short length, Wylde captured the difficult and tumultuous childhood of Randi while further exploring her current situation with sharp conciseness. The amount of drama/action in this story, however, seemed entirely rushed and over the top for its length and detracted from the fragile romance developing between Randi and Rome, bringing it a bit outside of reality. With that said, I did enjoy Rome's Chance and welcomed being back in Wylde's writing.

**Received an early copy; this had no bearing on my opinions**

Honestly, this is probably my favorite Joanna Wylde book. I’ve read her other MC books and while I enjoyed them, they tend to fall into the “too gritty/rough” MC romance category. Rome’s Chance, while hinting at that, does not. Sure, there’s a bar fight scene but Rome isn’t disrepectful of Randi and rather, is quite supportive of her. Rome and Randi have a brief past that could have turned into more if a natural disaster didn’t led to her leaving town. Now, years later, she’s back for a high school reunion and she and Rome quickly reunite. However, Randi’s family issues lead to drama and tragedy. What I really liked was the slow burn of this book. Rome and Randi clearly belong together but the family issues she has means that they need to take things slow and Rome supports that. He’s dealt with his own family tragedy in the past and is able to support Randi. Within the confines of a novella, Joanna Wylde does an excellent job of creating a supportive, believable relationship.

I am a big fan of Joanna Wylde’s Reaper’s series so I pre-ordered Rome’s Chance as soon as I found out about it! This is a novella set after book 6 in the Reaper’s series, though it can be read as a stand-alone, it’s best enjoyed if you’re already up to date with the addictive MC series. (Seriously, if you haven’t met Horse, Ruger, Picnic and the crew you’re missing out!!)

Admittedly, this wasn’t my favourite book of the series, but it was still an enjoyable read. Being a novella it’s a perfect quickie read which can be easily read in one sitting, and will leave you with a smile on your face (seriously, that ending!!) and a need for more Reaper’s!

I loved Rome, he was sexy and sweet and I couldn’t get enough of him. Randi...I was torn when it came to her. Half the time I really liked her, half the time she was so indecisive about absolutely everything that her back and forth irritated me.

I really liked Randi’s little sister, and I hope we get to see more from her in future books, she definitely has a story to tell, and it was great to see Gage and Tinker again. Bring on the next full length Reaper’s book so I can get more of my biker fix!

The last two novella's in the series have been the best because of the MMC. Rome is sweet and gentle with Randi since the moment he met her (in Reaper's Fire) then got his second chance with her in this book.

Loved it! Loved Rome and loved that we got glimpses of Gage and Tinker.

Warning: Physical violence and death of a loved one.

My least favorite of the series.
Just way too much YA/NA angsty drama. To much 'Woe is me' from both Mel and Rome.
They drove me nuts.

Then there is the lack of any details about the suspense going on with Gage and Rome. It was jumpy at best.

I hated what happened with Duck and quite frankly, I didn't think that it fit his personality to fall for Talia's 'Disguise'.

There were just tons of things in this one that bothered me.

Rome's Chance was a good addition to the Reapers MC series. Although I would have liked it to be a bit longer, I think Joanna Wylde does novellas very well, and it did make sense for things to end where and how they did.
