I do not know how to explain how wonderful this entire series was. It was amazing. The writing was gorgeous, lyrical; the story was powerful and entrancing. It definitely wasn't a work to take up lightly, and shouldn't be picked up for entertainment alone - it would be a disservice to read it with anything other than seriousness, for all its beauty. Highly recommended for anyone who loves beautiful writing and wants something thought-provoking and unique to read.

Batshit crazy. I don't really understand everything. Or anything? But I love it. This whole trilogy was some kind of an experience. See you on the other side.

I think this was the best of the three, though they are all so similar it’s hard to know. It’s worth reading just to get a lesson in how to write eerily — how to achieve surreal mood.

But I feel like I was promised something that was never actually delivered. And a part of me feels like that was the point. Which, frankly, pisses me off.

So: read one of these books — at least for a while. If you love it, great! If you don’t — it doesn’t change so you might as well move on now...
