I have mixed feelings about this book but ultimately it was an entertaining read.  I liked the magic and the mystery of who the hunter was.  The friendships were also really nice for the most part.  And the one friendship I was rightfully cautious about ended how I expected.

I wasn’t a big fan of Veronica and all the relationship drama she brought to Hannah’s life.  The character development was good though with how Veronica changed by the end but she was pretty toxic at some parts of this book.  The ending though really annoyed me.  I know there is a second book which I’ll be reading but this ending felt too incomplete with having the witch hunter not be caught.

A fun concept that may satisfy younger readers, but doesn't hold up to an older audience. It was fun enough for witchy vibes, but doesn't have a place with other excellent options -punkpin spice and poltergeist for example. The main character is too childish to be appealing and there is no depth to other characters. The characters make inconsistent decisions and it distracts from the storyline. 

Negative points for a character being quirky because they don't know what a blondie is.

The audiobook was great at capturing that teen voice without feeling weird.  Would recommend consuming that way.

This book was good! It felt appropriate given the descriptions and genre. Sometimes the romance scenes feel too mature for the characters ages and that always gives me an ick factor.

I felt invested in my characters and look forward to checking in on them and their lives in future books. Excited about this series!!
