Wow… just wow. This ended up feeling much more satisfying than your average romance.
Now, if I’m completely honest I did struggle a little bit getting used to Lee at the start, and it wasn't until about 40% of the way through when I actually started to like her. She stopped feeling so sorry for herself and seemed so much more real!
The plot itself was promising and certainly didn't disappoint, nothing like forbidden love to set a story on fire. I mean, the blurb says it all and it’s the main reason why I bought this Duet!
“Liam wasn’t supposed to be my happily ever after.
He wasn’t even on my radar.
He was my husband’s best friend—forbidden.
But my husband is dead and I’m alone. I ache for him and I reach for Liam.”
Their forbidden love wasn’t easy, and was definitely not without it’s struggles. This only made the love feel so much more real and endearing. Liam stuck by Lee, and proved that he was her perfect match. When they finally gave in to one another my heart swelled.
Such a beautiful story... and definitely a must read!
