"HE VOWED HE'D COME FOR HER . . . Murdered before he could wed Regin the Radiant, warlord Aidan the Fierce seeks his beloved through eternity, reborn again and again into new identities, yet with no memory of his past lives.
SHE AWAITS HIS RETURN . . . When Regin encounters Declan Chase, a brutal Celtic soldier, she recognizes her proud warlord reincarnated. But Declan takes her captive, intending retribution against all immortals - unaware that he belongs to their world.
TO SATE A DESIRE MORE POWERFUL THAN DEATH . . . Yet every reincarnation comes with a price, for Aidan is doomed to die when he remembers his past. To save herself from Declan's torments, will Regin rekindle memories of the passion they once shared - even if it means once again losing the only man she could ever love?" (From Amazon)
I enjoyed this novel.

First of all, I am absolutely obsessed with this series, it is quite literally crack for me at this point. that being said this wasn’t one of my favorite books out of the series. (it actually initially made me take a hiatus from the series completely)
I’m very conflicted with this book, I’m not sure if I'm supposed to love or hate Dreams of a Dark Warrior it’s a little too dramatic and hard to enjoy, and it was hard to like the plot. and don’t get me wrong, I love the bad boys, I loved Slain from the previous book because he was just bad, bad, bad. But Declan? He was just evil. I didn't like that. I think Lothaire said it best “Chase here is a coal-hearted, scarred, underhanded Irishman. who, incidentally is loathed universally by immortals and mortals alike.” He hurt the good beings and the bad beings. He tortured them. Sorry, but I do not feel sorry for you! You missed out on my sympathy after the first torture.
that being said, what really saved this book, and truly what I love most about these books in this series, was the badass female protagonist, I absolutely adore the female leads in this series and Regin is no different, she is so independent and sassy and just an all-around badass who knows it too. I absolutely idolize the Valkyrie in this series and aspire to be just like them.
and I will give Cole this, she is one hell of an amazing writer, and even though she made Declan a little too evil for my tastes, she somehow managed to make me more or less turn around on this one in the last few chapters. and I will definitely be continuing on in this series especially because Lothaire is next! All in all, I still enjoyed Dreams of a Dark Warrior for some reason and I gave it three stars.

The best of the Dark Warrior books! So much more background for Regin and Aiden, and also, another point of view as to what happened on the Order's island during the captivity of many from the Lore. Lothar is still up to no good, but finally, Regin has her berserker, forever.

Dreams of a Dark Warrior

Warning: This review contains mild spoilers.
The Immortals After Dark is an entertaining series with a host of quirky and lovable, if somewhat disturbed, characters. Unfortunately, the hero of this particular installment is neither quirky nor lovable although he is seriously disturbed, and it is virtually impossible to find anything appealing about him. As such, it is with a sad heart that Dreams of a Dark Warrior becomes my least favorite book in the series.
Declan Chase is the reincarnated lover of the Valkyrie, Regin, but is doomed to die once he remembers his past with her. In his current incarnation, Declan is a member of the Order, an organization aimed at destroying Loreans by capturing, imprisoning and torturing them in particularly gruesome ways - something that Declan actively and gleefully participates in. The fact that he suddenly regrets his actions after recognizing Regin as his mate in no way mitigates his behavior and neither does his painful personal history.
Despite being an exceptional writer, Kresley Cole has met an obstacle that she cannot overcome with Declan and her attempts to redeem his character are a dismal failure. Consequently, Declan's romance with Regin, as engaging as she is, is completely incomprehensible - what woman falls in love with the man responsible for stabbing, poisoning and eviscerating her?
In contrast, the secondary characters, especially Lothaire, somehow manage to salvage the book from being a complete waste of time. Natalya, Brandr and Thad are all intriguing and I hope we will be seeing more of them.

Libro davvero coinvolgente e doloroso...

It's a miss for me - I started skimming about 20% in and was only interested in reading about Lothaire.

All I’m gonna say, this book is perfection and My Tears Ricochet by Taylor Swift was written specifically for Regin and Declan.
