Th  character has a very Holden Caulfield style voice, which doesn't appeal to me.

Cried so much at the end. Heartfelt and emotional and driving. Very unique character voice that I really enjoyed. One of those books you devour in 2-3 days.

I’m so sick of men thinking that they can use rape (against women) as a one off plot device. I was compelled by the story but the authors problematic, show-off, pretensions, I’m not like other girls personality was showing.

Excellent first person POV. I usually don’t go for books told in third person yet I found Mim to be beyond relatable and hilarious. Great book for people who know people.

This book truely felt like a white man’s attempt to write ~cool teen fiction~. I tried to rough it out and I could not. And I don’t give in easily. I saw a review that called Mim a cardboard cutout to be a speaker for the author’s philosophy and snark, and I agree. There is no emotional connection, just a girl going through trauma, but she’s too quirky for it to effect her, and unfortunately you too.

Beautiful writing. Mim has major not-like-other girls complex, of which I am not a fan.
