The Way of Edan is a promising start to Chase's trilogy, albeit one that I found slower than anticipated. I know it's meant to be a slower story (There's an obvious influence here that all other reviews already say so I'll save the comparison), but once I found myself looking forward to certain points in the story: the book ended! But here my critiques end. Chase has put together a world that holds a long history beneath the surface. I enjoyed the protagonists Imharr and Orvandil especially, but of course the standout star of the cast is Supreme Priest Bledla, who once I began imagining him with Christopher Lee's voice I couldn't stop. The way the chapter ends sets up a fun net of various plots in the next book. 8/10.
