Like I said in my previous update religion brings people peace and solace but I'd like to believe that religion wasn't the only way to turn Afaf's life around.. but at the same time there is community there and when you find it.. you hold onto it.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review from NetGalley. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get into it and ended up putting it down only 3% in. It does seem like an interesting premise, but the beginning focused too much on laying out the characters and world but failed to make me connect with any of them. I’m sure it’s a good book, but this is a fickle time for us all and I have to read what grasps my attention.
