I really loved If I Stay and Where She Went, so I thought I'd give this a shot. The actual premise of the book didn't catch mu interest, but I'm glad I gave it a shot.

I actually preferred the second half of the book. The first half was just hard to get through. I'm not sure I even liked the main guy, but I could relate to Allyson.

Did I finish this in a day?
Yes

Am I proud of myself?
Yes

Am I in a terrible pain and begging my mother for the second book?
2,000 times yes.

This book was beautiful in all different ways. There's so much to learn here. It's so agonising starting from the second part. I love Allyson and even Willem, although sometimes I didn't know what to believe about him. I loved every moment of the book and how Allyson developed. In the last chapters I could see she was a much mature person from the girl from the first chapter.

It's very unlikely of me to love a romance book so much, but Gayle Forman has a great talent to leave a void in my chest every time I finish one of her books.

The book was full of wanderlust and lessons. AND SO FULL OF SHAKESPEARE! That was one of my favourite things about the book. It's like Shakespeare was part of Allyson and Willem relationship.

The end left me in agony. There are so many questions unanswered. Questions about Willem. Questions of what happened afterwards and it left me in such a shock. The ending counts as a cliffhanger and there's no way it's right to end a book like THAT. The remaining pieces of my heart shattered completely.

I just need to wait for February 14 and everything will be fine... *sobs*

So good! So cute!

I did get a little annoyed with Allyson because she had this very annoying "I'm 19 I don't need my mom anymore. I'm an adult!" thing going on and it was frustrating. We all need our parents... Even as adults.

This book was... delighting! I can't really think of a different word to describe it, it made me happy, it made me want to travel, and in a way, it made me want to be 18 again.

Just One Day is the story of Allyson, who finally decides to take a chance, do something she wants to do and go with the flow.

I hated 50% of this book. Seriously, look through my updates. Halfway through, I was ready to crucify Allyson for being a spoiled, selfish, privileged brat who has no respect for other people's cultures and expects the seas to part before her.

Thank goodness "Just One Day" took a turn from there.

I so appreciated Dee's entrance into the story. He made me look at the story (and at the author) in a whole new light. I loved the braver Allyson. I loved the rich details about Europe that Gayle Forman embedded into the story, and it makes me want to say "yes" more, just to see where it will take me. So for that reason, for the way the novel ended - with Allyson being more self-aware and more objectively understanding of the situation - I feel like this book deserves 3.5 stars.

I am actually really looking forward to "Just One Year," with Willem's story. I much preferred Gayle Forman's "Where She Went" (Adam's story) to "If I Stay," and I suspect I will feel the same here.
