This is the first book I have read by Schroeder. I had heard so many great things about her books but I was still a little hesitant. How can I connect with the characters in a verse novel? How will their story develop in such a sort book? All of my hesitations were completely unjustified. I realized that after just a few pages.
I connected with the characters very well. I felt their pain. Their fear and their joy. Lisa Schroeder definitely has a way with words. She may not use many of them but they are written so beautifully that you can't help feeling every one. The story alternated between Brooklyn and Nico and their struggles with their own personal ghosts.
At times this book was a little creepy. The ghost aspect is something I love. Seeing as I'm a strong believer in ghosts myself. This book is definitely not to be missed. I will be reading Schroeder's other books as soon as possible.

I'm not usually a big fan of novels written in verse but honestly, this was the best way to write this novel. Any other way and it would have dragged on too much. Writing it in verse gave the story just enough depth and detail without having it go on forever and become repetitive, which is something i fond a lot of contemporary YA fiction tends to do.

I enjoyed this story...beautifully written, super sad but really good. This is my 2nd book by Lisa Schroeder.
Books in verse totally amaze me the way that they are formatted. I would love to see how the author "writes" them.
I don't have a lot to say about the book...is that a good thing or a bad thing?

Dear Readers
this is my first verse book ive read, and I was like before getting into it. "this isnt a book" boy, i was wrong. this is so much better than reading a novel. its quick and gets the idea of the story across faster.
but anyway about the book. it was so inspiring and gripping to read about coping with loss and how to get over it.
the characters are loveable. Brooklyn and Nico are so amazing to read. These character never got annoying like Zoeey Redbird from the house of night. (aaaargh that another story) but i love Brooklyn she is real as can be, and Nico is just a REAL BOY.
Lucca and Gabe are such well develop character even they both are dead. they not only teach Brooklyn about dealing with greif but also the reader to.
I will remember this book forever. it made me go for a run while listening to Killers on my ipod (if you read the book your'll understand.) its a life altering book.
I love it.
Love
Greg. (hahah just like Brooklyn writing to Lucca.)

Finding Brooklyn was a beautiful novel written in verse about loss and hope. Nico and Brooklyn find comfort in each other and heal together after the death of Lucca (Nico's brother and Brooklyn's boyfriend).
