Loved listening to this book and definitely recommend listening instead of reading to get the full experience.

Really enjoyed this one. It’s very relatable as a dad. Just glad I don’t sleepwalk on the level of Mike Birbiglia, parenting is hard enough without that.
If you want the abridged version, the Netflix special of the same name is excellent. But the book shares enough jokes and stories that it would probably be worth picking one or the other. I had to wait a few months to finish the book so the special could fade.

Free physical book, the review is my own.
I saw the Netflix special a while back and LOVED it. The book is just a physical copy of it and I loved it just as much.

DNF at 20%. This comedian's humor feels way too mean-spirited for me (and I'm not getting anything out of his wife's interstitial poetry, either). I'm not familiar with Birbiglia as a stand-up comic, so if you like his material there, maybe the book will be more your speed. But all the jokes about his hatred of children, and religion, etc. just strike me as ignorant and sad. Getting through even an hour of the audiobook has been a chore.

Light and entertaining with parenting and life in general introspection. This was a good book between heavier content and easy to listen to by the author himself with his wife reading her related and beautiful poetry.
