Would not recommend, was quite depressing and macabre. The story and the way it was told was very simplistic.

This book was… a lot. Definitely well done and well written, but I don’t see myself re-reading it as it was a difficult read in terms of theme and description.
I think it told an important story of the human psyche and society and about how we’re all just animals in the end. Very dark, very gruesome, but damn is that story one that’ll stick with you.
I’d suggest this to people who want something that goes beyond macabre into the dark underbelly of how terrible humanity can be.
Well written and the pacing was done very well, but it was a lot.
I need to read something happy and cozy now.

I love a good book that leaves me stunned well after it’s over. This is exactly what this book did to me. The story was so interesting and even had me asking myself what would I do in this situation?

Phenomenal dystopian read about the inner workings and struggles of a human mind in the midst of a  national plague, chaos, violence & inner turmoil to do what is expected of him and what he truly desires.

If you like dark/gruesome dystopian-like stories, then you'll probably enjoy this book. I'm pretty 50/50 on this book, I liked the fact that the book kept pulling me in to where I couldn't put it down. However, This book gives the reader an idea of what the world would be like if cannibalism was legal, which is scary to think about. This book is not for the easily disturbed.

This was a very tough read. I love dystopian novels because I always find them very interesting and terrifying at the same time. This is the exact fit for a horrifying dystopian novel. I felt like I simply couldn’t put it down even though it was so disturbing at times. Definitely not a light read and not one you want to read while snacking…
