Well, i finished my Amazon freebie. The main character was deplorable, but curious, and the ending rushed. It's a shame - the conclusions were decent, just...sudden.

I found the protagonist very Unlikeable. Since the entire book is in her voice, there was no escape from her. It was a quick read, however, and I hung in til the end, hoping for an 11th hour transformation, an unlikely redemption. I’m so glad I did. Wouldn’t read again, but I’m glad I finished it.
(Would have been 2 stars, but the ending raised it to 3.)

DNF. I got to 4% in before I closed it - it’s awful. It’s written in a series of emails/letters/notices which are awful to read - they jump about, the stop/start pacing is very blah, and as a means to introduce characters, it’s lacking. The protagonist is not likeable: she writes rude, meandering responses to one star reviews, dumped her boyfriend over email using her invalid father as an excuse - right after we find out she never visits her father - and generally? She is up on so high a horse that I care so little about what happens to her. Whatever awful conflict happens further on in the book will be well deserved.
Stopped reading, I wanted something cute and engaging, and this was not it. I very rarely don’t finish a book (this is my first DNF in two years) but honestly, this book isn’t for me.

I found this one quite hard to get into, although the characters are likeable they seem to jump around quite a bit at the beginning which made this quite a slow read for me.

On the one hand, a funny premise and some funny scenes; on the other hand, our protagonist remains stubbornly incapable of genuine introspection, curiosity about other people's take on things, or empathy.

A book told through emails, journal entries, blog posts and so on from the perspective of a fifty-something bookseller in Philadelphia as she navigates the change of her neighborhood and the addition of a competitive bookstore right near hers.
I waffled a lot throughout this book on my feelings about Fawn. There would be moments where she would write an email or do something that made me giggle and I loved her and then on the next page she would do something that would make me roll my eyes or I would be greatly disappointed in how she handled something. Because this book was presented in the way it did, plot was hard to put together and characters played a big part, so my roller coaster of feelings made me feel as though I would go back and forth on whether I liked the book or not.

Terrible Do Not read
This is the first time I have felt compelled to write a review. This is the worst book I've ever read. The main character has a terrible personality. No redeeming qualities at all
