rachelisgreen's review against another edition
The finale of She Who Became the Sun had some of the clever political maneuvering of the first, but in a slow pace that made it less punchy and triumphant. Additionally, it felt like it was written by someone with a contempt for sex: saturated with toxic and disturbing sexual encounters and assaults, it left me feeling ill. I can’t describe Wang Baoxiang’s arc as anything other than deeply fucked up. As the dynamics just grew more dysfunctional, I found myself not enjoying any part of it.
Graphic: Rape and Sexual assault
Moderate: War and Bullying
