A couple thoughts;

- Learned more about the Yazidi people as I was not aware of any of their beliefs and will definitely read more about them. It's always interesting to learn about different religions and cultures. I didn't know that they also have a similar story of an angel not bowing down to Adam when commanded to do so and their interpretation is one of the reasons they're heavily discriminated against and targeted.

- I don't like how centered the story became on Ibrahim towards the end with his creepy and weird obsession with Meleknaz. This is an extremely traumatized woman and to center a man in this is a poor writing decision.

- I think overall this was a nice, short read about approaching differences with curiousity and kindness (which is something many Muslim communities lack). I don't know if the author's intention with Ibrahim was to demonstrate that curiosity can also be harmful, but I hope it was that. And possibly to also demonstrate how feeling guilt can make someone go to extreme lengths to make themselves feel better even if they're causing damage because they only care about redeeming themselves somehow.
