Really enjoyed reading it. The way love is described from both perspectives was really interesting and there is a lot to think about even after the read is over. The vibes are immaculate

Would I say this is an exceptional book with an exceptional storyline? No. Does it have a fantastic ending? Not at all.
But, the way it's written, it feels like poetry. Despite being originally written in Marathi and translated into English, it still turned out to such a well written piece of work that I was mesmerized by the words. Such a fantastic work @mahimkajerry has done translating it!

Set in my favorite place to live in, Pune, this is a marvellous piece of literary work that revolves around Tanay, Anuja and their respective relationships with the new house tenant. I'll be honest, when I first started reading it, it felt to me a lot like Call Me By your Name. A young queer boy pining for the new house guest - sounds familiar, doesn't it? But this book was so much more than just that. The tentative relationship of Tanay with the new guest, the quiet and restrained emotions coupled with his desire were a delight to read! And this was just the first part.

The second part comprised of Anuja's POV with the guest, the love affair and sentiments she ended up developing with the occassional reciprocation, and the consequences of it when he abandoned her. This was such a contrast to read compared to Tanay's POV.
And it was interesting to witness how these two separate love affairs of a brother and a sister with the same person were blooming, with neither being aware of it.

The attributes of a standard Marathi family is so beautifully captured since the beginning of the story, with the fragrance of Amritranjan lingering around the house. They have shown a household where the daughter of the house has the freedom to go on solo trips and treks, but is not allowed to talk to the male guest.
The ending felt too unfinished and vague for me, and I wanted the characters to have some sort of closure, wanted to know the reason behind why the guest abandoned them without a reason, and most importantly, I wanted those two siblings to just talk to each other once!

It was fine. I like the idea of it, but in reality I'm not into introspective character-driven slice of lives unless they're exceptional. This one was different to any I've read (which is a compliment) but I found it overall quite boring.
