Die For You follows the FMC as she tries to find her sister after a car accident. She travels to a small town called Red Thorne and meets Hunter… fitting name for a Vampire!
The story follows Raya, Hunter and best friend Alex to find the missing sister.

I really like the vibe of this book! It was giving Twilight and Vampire Diaries.
However, I found the plot a bit hard to keep up with. A lot happens in the book in a short amount of pages and felt a bit too quick paced.

The romance between Raya and Hunter is definitely not a slow burn and this meant I didn’t form a connection to them both.

I am however excited to continue the Red Thorne series and see what else is in store for the little town run by Vampires!
Im off now to go reread Twilight…

Such a strong character driven narrative with an incredible element of mystery and handsome paranormal love interests.
Thriller narratives are definitely Lauren's genre and I hope she writes more in this space.

Just when you start feeling like another rewatch of The Vampire Diaries and a reread of Vampire Academy - in walks Lauren Jackson with "Die For You".

We follow Raya and her best friend Alex to the fictional town of Red Thorne, Australia in search of her sister - who was two years earlier went missing after a car accident that killed their mother. Red Thorne isn't what it seems though, it's the place that Supernatural's are rumored to reside. After an accident that leaves Raya on the brink of death, her mysterious savior Hunter, and a resident broody vampire, creates an accidental bond between them that leaves both of them no choice but to stay together since separation means certain death for Hunter.

The story itself is shrouded in mystery and intrigue, and the relationship between Raya and Hunter is hot and fast giving absolute vibes for all of our favourite vampire tv shows and movies. The story pace is quick, while the love is slow building making the perfect combination for any fan of super cheesy, yet still incredibly hot vampire romantasy!

I read this between the book and the audio - I loved the fact that the narrators were Aussie too. Fingers crossed they do the next book as well.

For fans of;
- Grumpy bodyguard
- Vampires
- Multiple POV
- Supernatural bonds

Honestly I was hooked as soon as I saw the book had a playlist. Gets me every damn time. Such a good book, I loved the characters and the banter, the mystery, the feel of the book. I also loved that it was based in Australia. This is only the second vampire book I’ve read based in Aus (thank you Allison A Andrews for #1)

I loved the different POVs and the entire themes of protector, survivor and predator. I also would kill for someone to give me a nick name in another language, “Legata Una” swooon

This one is for all the girlies who grew up on Twilight and The Vampire Diaries and are now adults looking for some of the same vibes.

Raya has suffered a lot of loss in her life but she is determined to find out what really happened to her sister, Cora. Physically and as mentally prepared as can be, Raya and bestie Alex move to the mysterious town of Red Throne with a plan to pose as Uni students while they search for the truth.

Enter Hunter, a broody and emotionally aware vampire trying to live a more controlled life. Without spoiling it too much, Hunter is very much a Stefan.

Raya and Hunter's chemistry is magnetic and while their relationship develops quickly, for completely justifiable reasons, I couldn't help but be swept up in it all. The lust, the want, the electric moment when they give in to it all. Love!

There is also a moment in this book that is totally unnecessary. I was distraught and traumatised by the loss, I will never forgive you @laurenjacksonauthor 😭😭 I can't say any more because it will spoil it for those of you who haven't read it yet, but I have a feeling you will know when you get to it.

It was a fun read but I did find it completely predictable and it didn't hold my attention as much as I thought it would. There were no surprises for me, unfortunately. Definitely saw everything coming. If you want Twilight / Vampire Diaries with some spice, then this is for you. My expectations were definitely higher going in but overall I give it 3 stars.

Vampires in Australia, yes please. FMC drinking a flat white, priceless.

The story is fast moving and it’s a fun read. My only reason for a 4 is that some of the characters decision making or changes of heart felt extremely fast paced. Which forced me out of the story telling a little. But, I’ve been reading some chunky, fantasy sagas recently and this was a welcome change. All the tropes and themes I love to read about but easily digestible. Couldn’t put it down!

Really want to read more from Lauren.
