The story follows Elise, niece to the king, as she is thrown into the politics of marriage and royal duty when her uncle decides it’s time for her to find a husband. Enter Legion Grey. He’s not her husband, he’s out to find her one. That is until all of the deadly secrets from the past come spilling out…they have a funny way of doing that.
What the hell was that ending? We went through blood, sweat and stabbings for this motherfunker to do that?! I am so mad. I’m so mad, I don’t even know if can read the next one.

The slow start builds to a steady pace and by the end, events are flying by. I was concerned I’d have a DNF on my hands but I’m so glad I stuck it out and was rewarded for my diligence. I particularly loved the build up of Elise and Legion’s relationship. It has some enemies to lovers vibes without them ever truly being enemies. Every victory felt earned and I have no doubt this will continue in the next installment.
