the book was okay. it passed fast and i was interested in the plot. also, i liked the characters and there were some things that surprised me. however, i didn't like how the misteri was resolved because i didn't find it realistic and some plot twists didn't make sense for me. i also disliked the romance between two characters, as i could tell from the first page that they were going to be together. and i didn't understany why there had to be chapters narrated from allison's perspective in the past; i would have explained the information in another way without putting chapters in another plot time and from another character than the rest of the book. to sum up, i had a great time reading this book, but it wouldn't have happened anything if i hadn't read it.

Oh, Karen you’ve done it again! I’ve been really enjoying McManus‘s books recently, in fact I’m on a bit of a binge. I listen to all of them on audio and it is perfect. Usually there is a full cast, the back stories are interesting and captivating, this one is not an exception. We have a spooky island full of family secrets, and three teens trying to figure out what exactly happened that got their parents disinherited. McManus does a really good job of putting in a lot of twists, where she will give you the one that you already guessed. It’s like a freebie. Then, out of nowhere, she comes out with even a bigger twist out of nowhere. She is queen of the multi teenage mystery perspective.

There were some good moments in this story, but when I finished, I couldn't help but feel like it was a little... disappointing and predictable. I'd honestly completely forgotten about this book by the time I wrote this review.
