Absolutely loved this book - it is so beautiful! The art is amazing, bright colors and collage design with book pages. I love the poem on how to read a book. It’s a book I read a few times, because I was distracted by the awesome art and needed to get the full impact of the words. If you love books and art you’ll love this book.

I love the author and illustrator of this book, but it is stuck in that odd place where I don't know what to do with it. It seems as though it was made for adults to appreciate - but I an not sure kids will feel as connected to it as an adult would.
I feel that there are getting to be more picture books written for an adult audience. I have had the experience more and more often that I buy a book (that I have not read myself) for my library, based on reviews and word of mouth (or in this case the author) then feel uneasy about it's future - I don't believe it will get checked out, because kids will not be drawn to it.
I am interested in seeing if this feeling holds true. Check back with me in a year and I will check my collection stats. :)

Kwame, can we be best friends? No really... Can we? Love Melissa Sweet's illustrations and Kwame's Brain.

This was devastatingly good and delightful. I’d expect nothing less from Kwame Alexander and Melissa Sweet.

This is a beautifully illustrated picture book that talks about how to read a book. First you find a comfy spot, then you dive in to the colors, the smell, the rustling of pages, by yourself or with friends.

Kwame Alexander is a master. He has a way with words than I can only begin to comprehend. I would love to meet him some day. Anyway. this book of his won't work in a storytime. It won't super much for a lap read either. The unique collage like illustrations do make the words more difficult to decipher (although they do pop out when the text warrants)
