I'm really sad to do this, but I've tried reading this 3 different times, in 3 different years, and I just never get very far. I know a lot of people love this book and series, but I'm thinking it's just not for me.

This was...I don't have words for the atmosphere she sets. Or these boys. these wonderful wonderful boys. Or the profoundness I felt reading children who believed so much in what they find.

I dnf’d the Raven Boys back in 2019, now here I am in 2022 giving it five stars. I’m honestly in shock right now … I’ve found a new favorite book, potentially favorite series, and I was really not expecting it.

I’ve been wanting to give this book another shot and it just felt like time. I absolutely adored the audiobook. I felt like some gentle old man was reading me a bedtime story, in the best way. I feel nostalgic like I read this as a child, but I didn’t. I just think I would have been in love with this series as a kid.

The writing is spectacular. I caught myself smiling at so many parts. I kept thinking wow that was a clever line. Every character was so well crafted and seemed so brilliant. This is definitely the kind of book I should have annotated. I keep thinking of witty lines and it’s making me laugh.

Gansey. He is everything to me. His inner monologue is so enlightening. I love everything he has to say and how odd he is.

Adam. He’s definitely my second favorite but towards the end Noah was stealing the spotlight.

Noah. He’s perfect, sweet, wonderful. I loved his story. I loved the ending.

Ronan. I have a feeling he will be one of my favorites by the end. Something is brewing with him.
