The plot is quite interesting and it has been preformed by the author really well. It's keeping me on my toes and I definitely want to read the next book and find out her journey. Our FMC is sooo strong, the first chapter was not something I enjoyed reading and the way she grew, is admirable. Finding Colton was one good thing that she got out of this and even between so little encounters, she was able to open up and explore herself in his comfort.

I wish I enjoyed this, but I really didn’t.

I am not a fan of the whole “I like it rough so I must be a monster” mental dilemma. Yes, Sadie has some trauma that compounds her internal dilemma, but the book is entirely too short to build a deeper connection with her, and it just comes off a little “I’m so kinky; how could anyone ever understand me?” and it gave me the ick.

I might pick these up again later but for now, I’m passing on this series.

I was immediately drawn in. I couldn't put it down and read it in one sitting. It was so good. Perfect for a good smutty murder mystery and I cannot wait to read the next one. Only complaint is I wish this book was longer.
