I was really surprised that I liked this book so much because from the description I really thought I wouldn't. I only read it because I want to read the rest in the D.D. Warren series. It turned out I could hardly but it down. A very good read.

Lisa Gardner is one of my favorite authors. I had no clue this was in a series. I'm definitely going to be diving into the rest of this series.

This was ok. No regrets reading it. I liked the main character of Bobby but was expecting this to have more D.D. as it's listed as the first in her series. She only had a minor role.

What a great, great mystery writer. It took me a straight 9 hours from start to finish to devour this book. I couldn't put it down. I can not wait to read more of her works.

I really enjoyed this read and got through it in a matter of days. It kept me interested, entertained, and wanting to know more. I liked the story and the twist was a pretty good one. It was one I didn't see coming. I questioned the motives of Officer Dodge and I did not feel sorry for Catherine even though I could understand a little of where she was coming from. All in all, this is a solid book and I would definitely recommend it.

This story was good, but not out of this world great. Lisa does a wonderful job of leading you in slowly, but keeping you locked in. Once the action picks up it really gets going.

I'm a little on edge with the ending, but I know this book is a longer series so I'm anxious to get my hands on the next one.

I really really like Bobby Dodge. Even when his entire life is hanging in the balance he does what he wants, and pays for it dearly. He's a strong, emotional character that you just want to hug, and high five.
I didn't always agree with what he was doing along the way, but I was glad he did it in the end.

Catherine, on the other hand, is a piece of work. Gorgeous, seductive, and manipulative, she doesn't have much in the way of morals or boundaries. Kidnapped and molested as a child has left her empty inside. She knows right from wrong, but just how far is she willing to go to get what she wants? It's a love hate for me with her. I admire her persistence, but that's about it. I'm interested to see where Lisa takes us in the future with this girl. I hope she gets what's coming to her, whatever that may be.

If you enjoy a good, gripping, thriller with minimal gore and graphic details, this one is good for you.
