I don't think comic books are really for me. I have a hard time getting into the style and the pace necessary to read them.
That being said, Superman: Red Son, while falling pray to tropes of the genre, explores an interesting alternate history in a way that is fun.

In retrospective this one is more of a 3/5, because I don't know how to feel about it and with each passing day I care less and less about it.
My issue is that Mark Millar had a BRILLIANT idea with the comic book and basically wasted all of its potential by not really having anything of substance to say. I'm not expecting a political treatise, but you're turning Superman into a fucking COMMUNIST. BE A BIT MORE CREATIVE, FOR FF!!
The comic book is not really interested in exploring the tension between the ideologies exposed in the story, it's happy with just having heroes and villains beating each other, with meta references to the universe behind it and whatnot. And it pisses me off, because in the hands of a more ambitious writer the damn thing could have been GLORIOUS. At first I was more forgiving because after all, it's well paced, well written... I had a good time reading it, and Luthor was one hell of a character here! But it's the potential I can't forgive. And the disappointing unclearness behind the resolution. A part of me wants to believe Millar knows what he's doing, but the other is just convinced he was only interested in the potential behind such a story, without chasing it.
Enjoyable, but the inevitable comparison with better works just brings the rating down for me.

C'est un comics que j'avais envie de lire depuis un moment. Un genre de "what if?" Version @dcofficial dans lequel Superman a atterri en URSS en pleine guerre froide et est élevé comme un vrai communiste.
Le postulat et l'exécution d'un Superman communiste sont parfaits, l'histoire est prenante et très intéressante en plus d'être bourrée de clins d'œil sympa sans non plus tomber dans un fanservice nul.
On a la vraie personnalité de Superman altruiste même si en tant que surhomme rien ne pourrait lui faire changer sa vision du monde et donc malgré une volonté de bien faire, ses opposants voient leur cerveau "réinitialisé" en bon communiste, bien qu'il ne force aucun pays à rejoindre L'URSS, notamment les États-Unis avec un président Luthor faisant tout pour le tuer. Et pourtant, Superman ne lui lavera pas le cerveau

Not my favorite Millar story, but still pretty awesome. Overall I thought the ending seemed a bit rushed, the story was a bit corny at times, and the artwork wasn't as strong as Steve McNiven or JRJ. Still a quality story from Mark Millar, and I would recommend Superior to any Superman/superhero fan, and anyone that enjoys gigantic breasts.
