I didn't go into this book with any real expectations.
It's the story of a childhood friendship turned lavender marriage with a hint at a murder mystery.
The protagonists are flawed and selfish and the lovers they have vary in likeability. I found myself still quite invested in their lives.

I liked the premise of this book but it was altogether too long and dull. And there was a lot of gratuitous and vile descriptions of a variety of bodily fluids that often made me feel sick (and I have a strong stomach).
