DNF at 48%. I was very disappointed with this book, which I never thought I'd say about a Nalini Singh book. There wasn't a lot of development for either the characters or the plot in real time, just a lot of past exposition. It was almost like she wanted to retell earlier books from another angle. It felt like she just plopped us down halfway through a book and said it was the beginning. We were supposed to believe the two main characters had this insane, maddening, possessive love for each other but didn't get to see that develop at all.
I could have finished this book, but I made a promise to myself to not read books that I don't like because my to-read list is simply too long for that. Nalini Singh is a fantastic writer, but maybe I've outgrown her after 10 years. We'll see what the next book holds.
