This collection started off strong but ended too quickly in my opinion. Some motifs weren’t very clear. What a shame. I think if the writers had given themselves another issue, this could have been a truly great comic.

Pretty good little read. The writing was not terribly complex and the artwork fit the narrative well. It was like a cross between The Breakfast Club and Stand By Me, but with a superhero slant to it. That ending though....damn! What a bummer what of concluding the series.

This comic definitely has a ton of untapped potential. I really really dig the characters and their diversity and personalities, and I want that to be deepened into a bit more. I can absolutely see this becoming a tv show, and i'd live for it. it'd remind me of the oa and shameless, different down and out teens coming together and fighting each other, etc. I didn't at all like Plutona's sections, bc i felt they were very lacking... I really did not care, and I'm sick of the superhero moral issue of "does the good guy kill the evil ones, because wouldn't that bring them to the same level?" fuck no. stfu and do your damn job for fuck's sake, i have no sympathy if u die then. anyway. I give this a higher rating because i generally don't like superhero comics, but the kids captured me, especially in the last two sections.

The art, on the other hand, is beautiful. I really love it.

It's pretty good. And horrifying. Don't know which it is more of.

I wish I could rate this higher, because the development of the relationships between the kids was spot-on and realistic. This is definitely a character-driven rather than plot-driven graphic novel. I just wish the ending hadn't felt so abrupt - almost like a "gotcha!" moment - that feels out of place with the rest of the story.
