One of my all-time favorite classic reads. An in depth glance into the human psyche with underlying highlights on female oppression.

When you finish a book (or a series if it is part of one) and are left with more questions than answers, it is not necessarily a bad thing.  Sometimes an ambiguous ending leaves you thinking about the possibilities long after you finished reading the last word.

For the case of this book, I though it was good.  For how short it was it definitely built up the atmosphere and vibes quite well and the tension of what would come next was evident.  However, I couldn't separate out the reality that women are constantly reassured that everything is fine, and even if something is wrong it can't be that bad.  It made me so sad and frustrated.

A moving, tragic narrative of a young woman going through what appeared to be postpartum and series of decisions made by the men in her life that only served to complicate her condition. Do yourself a favor, ditch the reviews, and find a copy.

This is a revolutionary tale of how mental health was treated before, and how Postpartum dysphoria was neglected, treated like it was not a real thing.

It shows how ignoring the mental health issues tha someone may have might actually worsen their condition.

What the author portraits in this breif tale is based on her own experience and in the end did wonders to change the course of mental health treatment and improve psychology as we know it today.

It's sad & enrapturing to see the progression of the thoght process of this woman and in the end how it affects her perception of herself and others.
