The 9th most rated book on Goodreads. and not my cup of tea. I don't read classics and if I did, I certainly wouldn't be reading the intrigues of not wealthy enough non-working Englishman hoping to marry off their daughter's to richer non-working Englishman. And it starts slow - though it is cleverly written.

But then it just ratchets up until it is just flying - and oh for Internet searches and background checks and cell phones all sorely missing. How hard not to cheer for Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth and Jane and perhaps even Mr. Bennet. Very witty and in the end way more believable then it deserves to be.

Delicious and satisfying on so many levels.

Adding the Audible version to my earlier read of a print edition. For the close of such a year as 2020, one must find solace where one may. Austen's prowess as a storyteller never fails. The characters continue to engage, the dialog to shimmer and sparkle, and the plot to take all of the best kind of twists. Grateful for the joy and comfort of this timeless classic.

this book is boring af.. this reread took forever bc it was like i was delaying to go to the fucking dentist. the only interesting parts were the netherfield ball and the last few chapters. she has other books that are way more interesting that deserve the hype this gets 🙄

It's amazing, one of the most epic and marvelous classic ever. Super sweet, funny, interesting, fun, and well-written classic ever.
I'd recommend this book to EVERYONE.

Tengo sentimientos encontrados.
