This was one of my most anticipated reads of the year. I enjoyed getting to know Eden better and really knowing how the characters are coping 10 years after the original trilogy. But there are bits that felt like didn't fit or were a little hurried and I really wish there had been chapters from June's POV. Overall I enjoyed this book, but it wasn't perfect.

re-read

this was healing to read as a lover of the original 3 books. re-reading the series, I realized that we didn’t get to know as much about the relationship between eden and day except in champion, so it was cool to revisit them, except as adults now. i only wish we had gotten to see more of tess and although we didn’t get june’s POV I still enjoyed reading this book.

4 stars - but ONLY because I skipped most of Eden's POV parts after the very beginning (after reading multiple warnings from other reviews of him being a huge insufferable brat and the plot basically being flat), and only read Daniel's POV chapters and skimmed for the romance parts with June.

That said, I LOVED the romance parts with Day x June and the ending was beautiful and made me so, so happy, like a fairytale romance ending! Finally got the closure I didn't quite get with Champion's amazing, tear-jerking, beautiful but so bittersweet yet hopeful & possibly the best ending I've read ever.

In the beginning I wasn’t sure about having chapters from Daniel and Eden instead of June and Day. And unfortunately my concerns were right. This is definitely not as strong as the rest of the legend series. I still love Day but I just didn’t connect with Eden or the plot of this one. Maybe the series should have stayed a trilogy.

I loved it! I loved having the POV's from Eden and Daniel. It was brilliant and the story was really well done.
I did miss June's POV but understand why Marie Lu kept it to the two brothers.
As much as I loved it, I did find Eden to be pretty young in his mindset and actions for a 21 year old. I wish he had been a little more grown up.
The story once again had me excited and hooked and desperate for more. To the point I would really like a 5th book based around Tess. She needs her own story and happy ending!
Such a brilliant book and if it is the final book then I understand why, but still I'm not ready to say goodbye to this world!!

5/5⭐️

An enjoyable return to the lives of Day, et al. I still enjoyed the world, plotting and characters. Will look for more by [a:Marie Lu|4342215|Marie Lu|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1285032806p2/4342215.jpg].
