I loved everything about this book. this was my first western in a while and was a refreshing change for the hero's in all the other romances I read. I loved how bold John was when talking just like a true rancher.

I like the fact that this book is an easy read. I don't think the language is completely in-tune with the setting/era of the story. "Oh my God" doesn't strike me as a common phrase used and if anything, it would be frowned upon by anyone else who heard a person use it!

I like the chemistry between Sarah and John. However, I don't need the graphic play-by-play of the sex. We know they'll do it. We know they'll enjoy it. If they didn't enjoy each other's company, they wouldn't bother to do the deed at the end of the day. It's that simple.

I wouldn't mind reading more books by Ms. Woolf. She has the chops! I'd just prefer cutting out the sex and enjoying everything else.

Very, very short book. Easy read. Couple of typos on the kindle version, but overall, a one sitting book that requires little thinking.

A bit to silly for me.

I received this book free and thought it was horrible. The characters are not from the right time period in manners, speech, culture, and the beliefs. She also had the "racism" wrong. The East was much more racist than the West, as in the West biracialism, was popular. I felt as if this author did hardly any research into the time period she was writing about. The plot line is boring and the characters act completely strange and unrealistic. She took things that would have made a great climax and resolved them too soon, realizing afterwards she was missing conflict and pulled out the dumbest and lamest one to use. It was also poorly written as everything just works out fine for the characters, no conflict, realism, or interesting things happen. Very dull and boring.

Capitol Bride felt like an unpolished first draft. The story jumped about too much. There were some good ideas in there and I even liked the characters. It had the makings for what could have been a really good story but it was just too disjointed. Such a shame.

This is one of the most poorly written books I've read in a long time! It was a free download, and I wouldn't have finished it if it weren't so short. Pathetically amateur!

Capital Bride (Matchmaker and Co. #1) by Cynthia Woolf – This was a freebie series starter, and now I really want to read the rest of the series. If you like mail order bride westerns, this is a fun one. Sarah and John may have met by mail, but they do a pretty good job fusing their families and building a life together. Happy Reading!

Easy read. Being cooped up in bed and having a kindle in hand so reading all the freebies available.
Requires editing in some places and William's villiany seems all too forced.Guess it would have been better with a bit more details in the beginning.

For a freebie this wasn't bad. Is the writing fantastic? No it's average at best and the character development is lacking but it is a good western yarn.

It is also an incredibly easy read that I finished in a few hours. Although I'll be honest I found the side-line with William a bit boring so I skipped a lot of those scenes.
