I am so attached to these characters it's ridiculous. This is a primarily steamy read, don't get me wrong, but the connections between the characters and getting to see everyone's back stories AH I'm addicted, this was so hot and so cute at the same time, I need them to have all the happiness in the world!!

Ugh!!!! The spice!!! The consent!!! The loveeee!!!! I love it all. While their relationship is not something I could ever see for myself I thoroughly enjoyed immersing myself in the world and loved each of the characters so so much.

- Heroine: Jessica
- Harem: Manson, Jason, Lucas, Vincent
- POVs Included: Multiple POVs (Jessica, Manson, Vincent, Jason, Lucas), Alex
- Book Playlist (Losers Book Series Playlist)
- Book Characters Cast: http://bit.ly/3vwWh2i

Jess and the guys are getting to know each other as she works off her debt for them fixing her car. But as time goes, all of them are starting to feel more for each other than just temporary lust. In the meantime they are dealing with enemies around town trying to make their lives miserable.

I LOVED The Dare. I REALLY LIKED the first Losers book. This one was…okay. The first half of the book was great. But honestly, it was just too long (480 pages) for being so slow paced and having virtually no plot. I’ve said it in other reviews and I’ll say it again. If a romance book wants to be all romance and smut with no bigger plot, that’s fine, but if that’s the case it’s gotta stay on the shorter side. If it’s gonna be a longer book, it’s gotta have a meatier plot and faster pace for me. My opinion, of course, but that’s what I’ve come to know I like.

The book wasn’t BAD though. I enjoyed all the characters and they all have a good amount of internal growth by the end of the series. Especially Jessica and Lucas, who had the most dramatic (but gradual) growth. This was done so good!

Also the relationship building was well done. By the time “I love you”’s were being said, I really believed it. Jessica had a lot of good bonding moments with each of the guys individually, as well as as a group. And each of the guys had their moments together too.

One thing about the relationships though is the m/m in this series is rather heavy. I really don’t mind m/m in a reverse harem, and in a lot of cases I like it. But sometimes I prefer no m/m in a RH because then the emotional focus remains on each them and the female. In this series there are two clear couples within the group before Jessica comes along (Vince/Jason and Manson/Lucas). The problem with this is that now it feels a little less special when Jessica comes along. And a lot of page time is now dispersed between each of the couples and then each of them with Jessica — spreading everything out a little too thin. I just prefer the m/m interaction in a reverse harem to be purely sexual. But it wasn’t terrible and the guys’ relationships were very sweet and genuine. But, it’s just not setup the way I prefer in a RH.

Despite having a lot of good bonding moments though, there was A LOT of smut. I like smut. I like it a lot. But I don’t like it back-to-back for nearly 500 pages because you start to get a little numb to it all and it starts to feel a little boring. Oh they’re having sex…again! Just like the last chapter! lol It was just too frequent.

However, I really enjoyed HOW the sex scenes were written. So well done! I like that they play sex games, but don’t go overboard with it. Some books turn it into a lifestyle with no downtime or “normal” moments between the characters and I find I need a balance between play time and genuinely emotional moments. It was a good balance.

I also loved nearly every single kink going on in the book. There’s a lot and some I didn’t even think I was that into. But they are all written so well in this book that it makes me curious about them. HOWEVER, I really could’ve done without the golden shower scene. It’s just gross to me. Anything else…fine, but that one I just can’t stand. I’m sorry if that’s your thing! Not trying to offend. I just don’t personally like it.

Okay so the only other thing I didn’t like is the overall feeling of these guys being the underdogs. I know that’s like the whole point of the series. But I guess I figured when Jess finally met back up with them they would’ve garnered more power in town or something. Physically, they are definitely badass. But I definitely have a thing for men with POWER. Like those who are untouchable, even by the law. Think Harlequin Crew or Sinners of Saint. Those untouchable bad boys hit me in all the right places. These guys didn’t quite have that going on. They are definitely the underdogs and I liked that they came out on top in the end, but I also just would’ve liked to see them be more powerful. lol

Overall it was a good series! I enjoyed it and I really liked all the characters. I loved the character growth throughout the series and how believably the relationships developed. And the kinky sex was pretty darn nice too.
