A collection of short stories about the characters from the anime web series. As someone who has not watched it, I was super confused. I looked up what RWBY is supposed to be about and it sounds cool, but I wouldn’t purchase this manga anthology unless I had some kids who were superfans.

A bit all over the place when you're not familiar with the characters...

I haven't seen the series yet, and probably not planning to as I am not a fan of the animation style. But I bought this one for my husband, who is a BIG BIG fan of the show, and decided after he read it to also try it out. At times I missed a couple of references, but in overall I had no problem reading this one, it helps that I know a bit about the show and the characters. I loved the tons of shipping, the various art styles were fun and I liked the stories. From serious to silly to sweet, it was such a fun read. I laughed quite a bit at Ruby and how she acted in some of the stories (which involved either her saying something embarrassing to Weiss or stuffing her face with food). I definitely need to buy the next on in this series as I also want more of this.

It was a good manga! Lots of cute moments. Unlike the Blake manga, which is the one I read first, this one didn’t really have any other kind of character development. It mainly just amplified how much of a kid Ruby was at Beacon. Not hating on it though! I did enjoy the cute stories told in this manga, but I did wish we got something more than just Ruby being her goofy self. Then again, I don’t think this is a canon manga more just for fun so that’s more of just a personal nitpick LOL! Anyways, I do recommend reading this if you are in the mood for some cute RWBY moments with a sad one or two here and there.

I wished it wasn't just a bunch of random stories. I did like getting to see more about Ruby and her personality does shine.

-1 star because of that chapter where they say Weiss and Ruby are “friends” when they are literally engaging in lesbian activity with each other throughout this whole volume

This is a cute addition to RWBY. I love the show and this was my first manga. I can’t wait for volume 2.
