I really enjoyed this story! It was a lot of fun and I really enjoyed getting to know Rapunzel and getting her story. I liked the twist on the fairy tale that we know. It is familiar but not exactly what you expect. This is a quick read. It held my attention the entire time through and I really enjoyed it and am excited to read the next one. It is a companion series to the Grimm Academy series.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

It's an interesting story.

I enjoyed it. Even though the ending was a little underwhelming, overall I liked this take on Rapunzle's fairy tale.

5th time's the charm clearly. I finally found a book / series by Greenwood that I love. Huzzah!

It's a very sweet story, about Rapunzel whose mother enrols her into Grimm Academy for reasons unbeknownst to her. She insists that Rapunzel gets a tower room even though that's contributing to her prophecy coming true.

At the academy, Rapunzel makes friends and finds love with Gavin, who has a secret prophecy of his own. At the risk of heartbreak (and much worse things), the two decide to be together. Will Rapunzel's mother ruin her happiness? Or is it the prophecy that will have a dark turn?

I love how the prophecies are tied into everything. It's a nice spin and makes for a better retelling.

Aside from the mother, there are no other villains which is nice. I like how friendly everyone is to each other and how Rapunzel was immediately accepted.

Gavin is sweet. I didn't get the feeling that the romance developed quickly, despite this being a short book. There were a few times where it was said that they hung out, drank tea etc without us seeing it and it was believable.

I want to see more of the Huntsmen. Why are they there? Will they have a bigger role?

And this isn't the only series with these characters??? GOOD. If I knew I probably would've read the other one first but that's ok.

Now I'm sure I'll give more books a chance, in other series too. There must be something else I'll like.

Tower of Thorns by Laura Greenwood is the fairytale inspired story you’ve been waiting to read. I absolutely adore Rapunzel and Gavin’s love story, as they work on making sure that their fairytale fate/doom doesn’t come true at Grimm Academy.

I can’t wait to dive into more stories in the Once Upon An Academy series.

Favourite quote: “... I find a jolt of something magical pass through me, as if this is something far beyond simple attraction.”

Laura Greenwood takes on Rapunzel’s story in this retelling in Tower of Thorns. I have to admit that Rapunzel kind of reminds me of Ariel from the movie The Little Mermaid as she is such a chatterbox. Then I guess I would be too if I suddenly went from living with just my dower of Mother to an academy full of people (laugh). Rapunzel is just so much fun and full of life. Greenwood gives us such a refreshing take on this tale. I cannot wait to see what happens next at the Academy and in this series.

I received an ARC of this book and I am writing a review without prejudice and voluntarily.

Another great book in this series. Felt that Rapunzel & Gavin seem to get together very quickly and their story was very short. Would have liked a bit more detail. Although I am enjoying this series.
