I enjoyed this book so much. It is the perfect mix of fantasy and humor and tension and magic that we all love.
I am a sucker for a reluctant hero trope. In fact, I think it’s my favorite trope ever, and January wrote it so well. We are rooting for Kyrie from the very beginning, laughing at her endearing antics, and watching a prophecy unfold alongside her.
From the way the story unfolds, to the bright and lovable cast of characters, to the jaw-dropping ending that leaves you thirsting for more, this book was an absolute delight to read and I can’t wait for book two “Of Gods & Gold”.
This book is a dual POV, MF fantasy romance and contains the following (content warnings):
-explicit sex
-violence
-death
-death of family (off the page)
-childhood trauma
