Diamond Fire
3 Stars

The preparations for Conor and Nevada's wedding are in full swing, and Catalina has her hands full organizing the details and keeping Rogan's extended family from running amok at his mother's palatial home. Not only has a priceless family heirloom vanished from the vault, but someone has tampered with the wedding cake. Can Catalina get to the bottom of it all before Nevada walks down the aisle?

This is an obvious linking book with the focus transitioning away from Nevada and Rogan to Catalina and Alessandro, although the latter only has a small cameo appearance in the story.

The mystery itself is pretty straightforward although the abundance of Ramirez family members with their double-barrelled names requires a chart to keep track of who's who. The resolution is satisfying albeit rather predictable.

Looking forward to the next full-length installment.

Diamond Fire is a short story that is a bridge between two trilogies: the first one about Nevada and the next one about her sister Catalina.
I think you should not probably skip it if you are reading this series since it offers some insights into Catalina's character. As for me, i was not into Catalina's POV. she is not as fun as Nevada. I hope the full novel is better...
