Extremely cool book. I loved the intertwining narratives and all the rusalka references. The folklore really enhanced the narrative. The chapters with Nina and her dad  reminded me a lot of Where the Crawdad Sings
My favorite was definitely the ex-Soviet pilot Nina Markova. I was really rooting for her relationship with Yelena Vetsina. Jordan McBride’s narrative was pretty good too, but I was most invested in Nina. Her and Ruth were adorable. Ruth is mainly a prop and I can see how that might be annoying since there aren’t any Jewish characters in this book about Nazi hunters post-Holocaust.
Like, maybe Jordan or Nina could’ve been Jewish. It would’ve been nice.
Ian Graham was a good character
Spoilerand his brother Sebastian who died at the hands of a villain was so tragic. But also kind of annoying to have the only homosexual character die. Assuming Nina’s lover is also bisexual
. But I wasn’t very invested in Ian’s Moby Dick. Tony was more fun, but Ian’s motivations were just sort of lacking. But I get it since he drives the plot forward.
I also wish the lesbian relationship was a bit more developed.
The Huntress was a great villain.  Lorelai Vogt/Annalise was really compelling and viewing her through Jordan’s eyes humanizes Die Jägerin and creates an interesting juxtaposition on how Ian describes her.

KATE QUINN NEVER MISSES
This is my favourite of her novels so far. What a story! I don't usually pick up such long audiobooks but this was 100% worth it, I'm so glad my friend recommended it. I couldn't stop listening.. it's crazy to think about all the research that went into this novel. I loved the way the characters interact, how interconnected they are, and the sense of dread employed by Quinn to keep the readers on the edge of our seats. Truly, it was masterfully done. I will be reading more of her stuff!! Amazing work!

This is another great book by Kate quinn. I do love to learn about the history of the world, but sometimes learning about it can be a bit overwhelming with all the info out there. I think it's why I love the genre of historical fiction so much as you get an amazing story that blends fiction with fact and keeps you engaged until the very end. I specifically love Kate quinn for bringing the female hero's and villains of war back to the forefront. As it's important for people to remember the women who made a difference in these wars.

This is a story about WWII where the lives of a Nazi murderess hiding in plain site, a new photography who could be in danger in her own home, and a USSR night witch and her team on the hunt. The 3 POVs of Nina, Jordan and Ian are woven together really nicely and I loved getting details from all sides of the story.

I liked that it strayed a bit from the typical who dunnit as we knew right away who the villain was. And I also liked that we didn't get the villain POV and had to learn it through the other characters as the story unfolded.

This is a very character driven book, and I did feel like she did an amazing job of making the characters feel human and real. I am a very plot based reader, so I did struggle through the middle when the plot slows a bit and we are getting a lot character development. But the ending was great and got me hooked back in.

After reading the Alice network, which is still my favourite as of right now, I knew I would need to read her other novels and I will continue to check them off my list!

I love Kate Quinn. She is an auto-buy author of mine whenever a new World War story is told. I don’t know that The Huntress needed so many perspectives or so much time jumping. But the story is fun. It is always exciting to read about history through the lens of feminism. I also appreciate Quinn’s acknowledgement of queer identities throughout history, it can’t be true unless everyone is included.
