This one has definitely been my favorite mystery-wise but it was remarkably low on Hawthorne for a Hawthorne & Horowitz mystery. As I've mentioned before, I want to like Hawthorne so getting to know him and spend a bit more time with him improves these books as you go along but this time we got to spend almost no time with him at all and that was quite the disappointment. Though Anthony was the most likable he's ever been for me this time around.

I don't think the racist (and homophobic in the previous book) aspect is needed to portray a vigilante. The might-be-an-almost-murderer is enough, but it might just be me.
