This surprised me. Yes, it was pretty clichéd and filled with stereotypes and repetition, but I was expecting it to be much worse. The tulip thing was done very heavy-handedly, but I honestly even enjoyed WTF moments and noticing speech patterns (sexy, VitaminWater, omigod, normal again, psychic gift, smoldering, red tulip, glistening, haughty — “haughty” isn't exactly a word used in too many books, but this one used it at least three times).
This isn't good, but that doesn't mean it's not enjoyable. What can I say? It's a new guilty pleasure.

I'm in two minds about this book. It is quite fast paced, so action scenes can seem quite quick and therefore quite confusing.
However, reading the author note at the end, and that it is inspired by grief, does put a new perspective on the story. And I think, helps me appreciate the latter part of the story because of that.
