Not typically a John Grisham fan but couldn’t pass up a novel that highlights a major problem we have in the US - wrongful convictions. I think this book describes the issue really well from lawyers who take the less glamorous route and work incredibly long hours, days, weeks, and even years for minimal pay to our broken criminal justice system that allows unfair trials to take place. Definitely worth the read if you’re interested in criminal justice!

A solid Grisham that feels like his earlier novels. Some issues with repetitive phrasing that should have been caught in editing, but overall enjoyable.

Classic Grisham legal and penal system corruption and shenanigans in Florida. An interesting concept that is well written. The characters are developed and interesting and the plot moves along nicely but does slow at times. Overall a very worthwhile and fun read.

justice delayed is justice denied. An innocent man is in jail for a crime he did not commit. This is the story of how the truth was uncovered

I kept forgetting that this was not a true story. Grisham just writes so well and it is somewhat based on real life, that just make it so plausible.
Post is an attorney as well as a minister and he devotes his time trying to get innocent people out of jail. The stories of the inmates and how they got framed or just falsely convicted really expose how our judicial system is based on getting people locked up. The system is okay with having one innocent person serving a life sentence for every hundred that are correctly convicted.
