Another good read from Quick. I liked this book from the story to the development of the relationship between the two main characters. Charlotte and Baxter meet and begin an investigation together to find who murdered a woman they both knew. As they investigate a strong attraction starts to grow between them. It is a lovely romance that I will read again. Xxx

Affair was 4 stars for me until the end, the last several chapters dragged on and on.

FMC is a PI investigating the death of a client, and MMC is a chemist dragged into helping her when he investigated *her* of the same suspicion. The mystery has some good bones to it, although we know who is the Big Bad early on. I like the MCs, she's resourceful and intelligent, while he's a bit geeky, overly practical with a dash of alpha protectiveness. And he wear glasses!
Their romance is fun, with bouts of bantering, and it's entertaining to see him fall in love in his socially inept way. I also like how she was the only one to see beyond his facade. Doses of humor kept the book light, and the ending is great, from temporary affair to HEA.

Affair
3 Stars
Amanda Quick's writing and plotting are as engaging as always. Unfortunately, Baxter and Charlotte's romance simply did not resonate with me. This may be due to their lack of unique characteristics as they are very similar to many of Quick's other hero/heroine pairings.
The identity of the villain is also obvious from the start, and the tension and suspension in the eventual showdown are lackluster.
Overall, an entertaining enough read but not one of Quick's best.

Not as good as Ms. Quick's other books but enjoyable enough. The banters weren't witty enough.
