I fell in love wth Beth and Shane their story just kept on getting better. It is full of love, laughter and suspense.
Well written, drawing me in. The story playing out in my mind as if watching it on the big screen.
I cannot recommend this series enough. Can't wait for Lia's story and all the others to come after!

Unnecessary sequel

Fearless is not nearly as good as Vulnerable. Beth and Shane’s love story continues, we meet some new characters, and we miss some old characters. This book feels rushed, it’s incredibly repetitive, and should have been merged with the first one. There should be more Gabrielle and Tyler. I don’t know how authors make these basic mistakes, but in the first book the housekeeper was named Elly, in this one it’s Ellie. Why the change. In the first book, Tyler is 42, but in this by one he’s 44. I’m assuming at some point that we’ll find out that Tyler is really Beth’s father. It’s okay.

This was painful. It was like everything that I found entertaining in the first one was replaced with all the stuff I didn't like. I mean, it's really bad. The characters aren't likable (maybe with the exception of Lia, she seems cool), the plot is a complete drag, and the relationship is pretty problematic. I will admit that I skimmed a lot of this to avoid DNF'ing it. I came this far, I wanted to see what was going to happen with Kline since literally that's been the set-up from the very start, but it was SO ANTI-CLIMATIC.

I said I would read this book to see if Beth's story got any better, but unfortunately, for me, it did not. If possible, Beth came off as even weaker in this book than the first. First of all, experienced as a book store owner or not, she did not have to keep taking that crap from someone who "technically" worked for her. I would have kicked that "dragon lady's" behind from here to the moon! That lady was on some other type of evil, and it went on for far too long!

Beth's brother was over the top, as usual, but disappeared for days and weeks at a time. How would she be more safe with him if he's not around? Then Beth continued to do things that would be considered TSTL. I mean really! She said she didn't want Shane putting his people at risk for her, but isn't that what they're trained for?! Then she agrees to let a reporter from a newspaper interview her.

DNF I read about 50% and gave up. I am sad... I really thought that I had found a new series to love.

This was the conclusion of the Shane and Beth's story. I enjoyed all of the components. It was great to see Beth challenge Shane. It was painful to see how Shane handled his guilt and how it affected him and Beth. I enjoyed meeting more people in Shane's family. I'm hoping there will be future books in the series about them. Overall, I enjoyed the progression of the relationship of the main characters and the conclusion of the suspense portion of the book.

Okay.

This is the conclusion/continuation of Shane and Beth’s story from Book 1 in the series. I think I’ve gotten the sense that the suspense element l in these books is not very suspenseful and that these are more romantic dramas set around a Security/Bodyguard firm- which is fine. Did this have to be a whole full on second novel? In my opinion, no. I feel like this conclusion could very well have been part of Book 1 in the series. If anything, this book to me, weakened Beth as a heroine and made her seem childlike and not very respected by secondary characters or by Shane for that matter. I think that what worked as submissiveness in Book 1 came across a little as immaturity in Boom 2 and I think Shane and Beth’s story would ha e been much better ended with this ending in Book 1. However, this author is entertaining and this didn’t drag too much. I think an editor is definitely needed to do a proofread and clean this up a bit. It’s quite a spicy book so much so that it felt a bit on the filler spectrum especially since the rest of the book didn’t add anything significant to the story that existed in Book 1. However, in all, this was fine and I still care about the McIntyre family and would read more of their series.
