"When you feel like you've been rejected by society you start to wield that solitude against innocent people."

As Morio and Yukiko continue to grow closer, their friends do too—or try to, at least! Differences in their lived experiences lead to clashes between Morio and Sora, Yukiko’s best friend—but could Sora’s love of running help them all find common ground and work together to take down a bully?

This volume hit wholesome friendship, tame jealousy, gaps in life experience, how hate from someone of a certain group can lead to resentment/hate/fear towards the whole group (because how do you know who's the safe sighted person?, for example), and how abuse breeds more abuse.

Love that the cops were a part of the plan from the start. Have you noticed in many stories that's never an option when it could easily be?

And I love Sora saying bullying is just dumb. So many things in life are miracles yet "They're wasting the good stuff in life."

I mean, really? There are all these things they could be doing with their time, yet they're wasting it hating on people? Are they that boring and miserable, they couldn't get a better hobbie? Do better. BE better.

I really enjoyed getting to know Yukiko’s friends, Sora and Aono, better in this volume. However, I did think that the reasoning behind the creep bullying Sora for being blind was weird though, and barely made any sense. I don’t care how badly you’re treated by your boss, there’s no way that at your big age you don’t know that throwing HOT SOUP on someone and running away is not a good way to get the attention of a girl you like!
