"ELIO
We’ll never speak again, you know..

OLIVER
Don’t say that.

ELIO
I just know it. We’ll chit-chat, chit-chat, chit-chat. And the funny thing is, I can live with that.

OLIVER
You just rhymed."

“How you live your life is your business, just remember, our hearts and our bodies are given to us only once. And before you know it, your heart is worn out, and, as for your body, there comes a point when no one looks at it, much less wants to come near it. Right now, there's sorrow, pain. Don't kill it and with it the joy you've felt.”

“We rip out so much of ourselves to be cured of things faster than we should that we go bankrupt by the age of thirty and have less to offer each time we start with someone new. But to make yourself feel nothing so as not to feel anything - what a waste!

This is going to be a messy review but Call Me By Your Name (the movie, at least) holds a special place in my heart because well, Luca Guadagnino adapted the book very well to cut out the issues of the book and certain things about the book have changed my life in a very positive way.

The above two quotes are some of the good thing(s) about the movie (and Timothee Chalamet's acting prowess, of course). Whatever the script, this man knows how to nail his roles to perfection. On the other hand, Armie Hammer, I have come to realise is a sexist, misogynistic pig and I will not support him hereon.

Originally, I posted an EXTREMELY positive review of this screenplay because well...I loved Call Me By Your Name for a good six months. I considered it a masterpiece, a true cinematic pleasure and more importantly, an unadulterated, forbidden romance between two people madly in love. I actually still do. It has had an impact on the way I view relationships and it might take a while to completely disregard the effect it has had on me. This movie sprouted my love for Chalamet. And the music..it's paradisiacal. I could never get over that.

Two MAJOR issues, however, I'd like to point out that massively put me off a bit (Please check them out, they're eye-opening.):
1. A specific comparison in the peach scene.
2. A derogatory racial comment on Indians during Elio and Oliver's trip.

I love it, honestly. It's exactly what the film is; beautiful scenery, an exploration of desire, and a very well done adaptation.
