Very simple and compelling slice-of-life window with a harrowing twist-of-fate tragedy revealed at the end. I didn't realize I'd be reading a comic set in Neolithic times, in the Middle East, with what seems like a lot of research done to craft culturally contextual characters. I really enjoyed seeing the depth of the research Heikkilä clearly put into it, and getting to experience his imagining of this chance encounter in ancient, golden-era times. The art and coloring is also exceptionally beautiful, with sharp contrasts and facial expressions that you want to look at again and again.

this is a perfect short comic. the story is amazing. the paneling is amazing. the art is amazing--which i only consider as a bonus, but it's a nice bonus!

it's set in the neolithic. THE NEOLITHIC!!! how many cool stories about the neolithic do you even know?!!?! this is like my favorite era. the ending is a twist in your gut. and it ends in just the perfect spot, narrative-wise. oh!!!!! i wish i were this good.
