A nasty little book with a predictable ending about one woman's experience with possession. I read this is one sitting. It definitely has some spooky moments with vivid imagery. Good for fans of Jennifer's Body, etc. The writing is quite simple, similar to YA albeit some of the graphic content.

Amazing.  Utterly, horrifically, amazing.

A slow decent into madness........ or possession. Her husband Edward and those closest to her can't see it. Strange occurrences are written of as coincidence. Minor violent outbreaks are chalked up to stress. Somthing is going on..... dogs and small kids always know. They can't be wrong, can they?

I greatly respected the use of biblical references towards the "demon." It shows the care and research the author used when writing. Every word in this book was thought out and well placed. As a Christian, the whole thing scared me. How easily the "demon" took over. How the little clues go unnoticed and, if are noticed, are chalked up to everyday happenstance. It isn't until the entity fully took hold that the woman even noticed, and even then those closest to her dont. A gripping read in every sense of the word.

A realistic look into how the average person would react to getting possessed.
As in, a bunch of denial and more ‘sane’ explanations til it’s too late. You can sympathize with Amanda, with the way her life falls apart and she loses control. You can’t blame her either- because possession & demons don’t exist, right?

Could’ve done without the demons lore or whatever, as that didn’t interest me much but it didn’t take away from the story- wouldn’t you want to know everything about what’s happening to you?

I feel bad for her and her loved ones by the end of it all.

A quick descent into possession gone on too far. Hopeless and suffocating.
