The book is very well written and show cases medieval knights very well. The characters are generally relatable and well written. Each has a good story arch and growth. However, the author shoehorns the Gospel into a medieval setting and it is very jarring at times. The King, God, comes off as a bad protector of his kingdom and appears magical or a mystical instead of the all powerful God. There are so many parallels to Scripture, but most are just disciples or apostles who have been plucked from the pages and dressed as knights.
