I would give this book 6 stars or more if i could. I absolutley loved it. It's a great story of love and redemption, but also amusing and fun. I think this is the first time i have actually cried my eyes out with a book, but it was great!

I love this book, I really really do, and once I have it in my hands I'll probably carry it wherever I go.
Honestly, if I ever become rich or something, I'd PAY to have this book made into a movie, and if they let me, I'll make it myself to make SURE it's exactly like the book, as much as it can possibly be.
Some important notes that bear mentioning: first, reviews are highly subjective, including mine. My opinion is meant to give an overview of what I saw/felt when I read it (and how it may or may not have made my brain explode). What I see might not be what you see, and what I like (or don't) might not be what you enjoy, which is just fine. My advice to anyone looking into a book? Read the premise, and if it interests you enough, give it a chance and form your own opinion.

This book holds the story of the devil, and more than that, the devil falling in love. It's the story of him finding redemption through love, of him willing to leave behind everything he is for the one thing he never thought could and would touch him, and even though he can barely hold on to it because of who and what he is, he holds on, and through that, you could say he loses everything but gains the one thing he was searching for all along, but had stopped looking, because of love.Honestly, if I ever become rich or something, I'd PAY to have this book made into a movie, and if they let me, I'll make it myself to make SURE it's exactly like the book, as much as it can possibly be.

I never thought that one day I would say this, but I think that I'm having a serious case of "Sympathy For The Devil".
This book... Seriously, I have no idea how to write down my feelings about it. It tricked me so many times that I don't trust myself with my thoughts right now; the author did a fine job misleading me everytime I thought I knew which way the story was going, but then she would take an entirely different path, leaving me breathless and gasping until the very end.
And my GOD, what was that ending?! It should have been predictable, and yes I was rooting for him to have his way and for his plan to work, but he is the Devil, so why should he...
See? even now I'm confused..
It goes without saying that the story of Lucifer "Lou" and Gianna is one I'm not ready to forget anytime soon.

Most people who know me would be surprised in my reading of this book and even liking it. If I'm reading a cover jacket or back of the book and said book is about angels or anything to do with Judeo-Christianity; then, I will put it back and avoid it like the Plague (however I had made an exception with Hush, Hush. But it was an ARC and let us not speak of it again).
I had come across Jeri Smith-Ready through her WVMP Radio series which I adore and thought I'd give her other work a try. I didn't really like Eyes of Crow, but I really enjoyed this book.
The book has snarkiness which I love and it does have almost a dark sense of humor to it at times which I do have. It doesn't have the ordinary take on Judeo-Christianity that I remember as a child (my dad used to love watch Touched By An Angel and other shows along that calibre). In fact, there wasn't a lot of overtures on it in the book, I thought.

This book is amazing! was a reread for me, the first time I read it was about 6 years ago and I think I love it even more the second time around! brilliant plot, very interesting characters and a very good plot twist. 5 stars, would highly recommend! I would say that this book is maybe not suitable for anybody under the age of 16 though. but it's still an awesome book! :)

I adored this book! I think I fell in love with the Devil myself--he was smart, sexy and snarky. My favorite part of the book--upon the girlfriend's grandmother finding out that her grandson was gay and and losing it at the Christmas dinner table:
"Her grandmother continued to bawl. Rosa (the girlfriend's mom) put her hand to her mouth and rushed out of the room. I had a mad desire to stand up and shout 'He may be gay, but I'm the Devil!' at the top of my lungs."I laughed out loud, which doesn't happen too often when I'm reading.

I cannot believe this ended like it did. I was like "is my book missing pages?".
Though I enjoyed it, at the same time it felt kin of meh. I feel like the author makes a lot of assumptions regarding the knowledge of the reader on certain matters. Also, many of the characters felt empy and underdeveloped. Many of them were just plot devices. Gianna, the protagonist, despite being a Catholic, was very shallow, selfish and self-rightgeous. She only convinced me at the end. You know.
Anyway, I thoroughly enjoyed the theological diatribe between Lou and Gianna and the kind of struggling Lucifer has to go through. This is not your average romance novel, but if you're very hard on your beliefs, you might not want to read a book narrated by Lucifer, however fictional the character might be.
