This is classic Leon - biting social commentary, Brunetti’s melancholy and outrage, a sense of justice never being satisfied - all against the backdrop of Venice, slowly being taken over by tourist hordes and those who cater to them.
Graphic: Child death and Domestic abuse
Moderate: Child abuse and Violence

I normally love the Brunetti books but this one was just 'blah.' While the mystery, in the end was solved, justice was not served. This has happened in other Brunetti books but this one was really unsatisfying. Maybe I felt more unfulfilled by the story because the victim was a child. Also, there was an entire other story/mystery that was completely abandoned.
Moderate: Child abuse and Child death
